BIO

As a Technical Communicator, I enjoy in taking messy information and processing it into a presentable state. This joy was enriched and reinforced by my Technical Communication degree from Kennesaw State University, and by practical work experience building training courses, manuals, and databases. I always enjoy learning new things such as software and processes.

Learning Designer I

I provide day-to-day systems support for ongoing learning and development initiatives. I provide user experience guidance of learning portal and social platforms. I implement and support learning projects. I provide training on social platforms including best practice documentation and guidance. I administer our LMS and our cloud-based social media platform to provide value for identifying opportunities to create efficiencies and digitalization of learning assets.

Georgia Tech

Digital Learning Specialist II

I provided expertise, support, and training to faculty, staff, and project teams for the completion of digital-learning initiatives. I provided technical support for Canvas LMS, Edx, Coursera, and other integrated LTI’s. I analyzed and resolved complex platform problems and technical issues. I assisted faculty and staff with platform capabilities, technical questions, and individualized troubleshooting. I documented and defined needs and requirements for digital-learning usage in courses. I assisted in the design/creation of platform training, documentation and support for faculty and staff, provided standard procedures for instructional staff. I maintained and updated department website.

Kennesaw State University

IT Systems Support Professional I

I provided training, testing and server support to all Georgia County Election Offices. I managed and maintained the Center’s internal computing operations. I worked with system administrators on campus to insure internal and external compliance with University standards.

Visual Design I - Movie Poster

The Challenge

  • The goal of the assignment was to re-design a movie poster using unique assets.
  • Tools used: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
  • Skills: Project management, Document Layout

The Approach

  • To keep myself organied I created a basic workflow.
  • Research – I looked at the existing posters for the movie along with other similar movies of that era.
  • Review – I watched the movie several times taking notes about callout moments.
  • Brainstorm – I wrote down all key terms that I associate with the movie.
  • Thumbnail sketch – After sorting through my brainstorm I formed 9 ½ inch thumbnail sketches.
  • Design sketch – I took the top three sketches and expanded them into 3-inch sketches.

Visual Design I - Rebranding

The Assignment In this assignment the goal was to brand / rebrand a company and create a mockup for a website company. I choose to make a fictious coffee company called Perk Place Coffee.

The Process

  • To keep myself organied I separated the project into parts, the Logo and the Web design.
  • I then created a workflow to follow while working on this project.
  • Research – I looked at the existing coffee house websites in the area.
  • Brainstorm – I created a word cloud of my ideas.
  • Thumbnail sketch – After sorting through my brainstorm I formed thumbnail sketches of the logo and a wireframe mockup of the webpage.
  • Tools used: Photoshop InDesign Adobe XD

The Assignment In this assignment the goal was to look at a recent news item in a rhetorical lens and write about that event. Being in to games I decided to look into what was called GamerGate.
